First Lego League

Year 5 attended a Lego club run by Mrs Downes after school. In the club they focussed on problem solving skills as well as learning how to program a Lego EV3 robot. They children were all amazing and took on some very challenging problems. For the competition the children had to work together as a team and show how they have used core values throughout their timein the club as well as further afield in other activities that they do. During the competition the children had to present their Innovation project to a set of judges who said they were so impressed with their speaking skills.
It all came down to the final challenge of programmin the robot to complete the different missions. The children were all amazing under pressure and did an amazing job and scored a very impressive final score to win the missions overall out of 10 other  schools from across Northumberland. Watch this space for next year when we hope to retain our title.
